In 2011 Mark Leibowitz Photography Inc. partnered with Communities in Schools, the nation’s leading drop-out prevention program, to create an after school program to teach students at Hamilton High School about the art and business of photography. The photo program is now in its second year and on Tuesday we celebrated CIS’s commitment to helping young people realize their goals and reach their potential with a fundraiser. This year we asked our students to create portraits of other CIS students to be displayed during the event; each student photographed one of their peers who then answered questions about success and how CIS has made them successful. In addition to their role as featured artists for the evening, our students ran the photobooth… you can see a few examples after the group photo below!
Mark also donated one of his pieces from his Backstage series to a Charity Buzz auction benefitting CIS. You can bid on the piece here for a chance to own a Mark Leibowitz original AND help CIS… sounds like a good deal to us!
